How the crab works

The crab answers a hiring manager's questions about me, at any hour. It runs in your browser, on the same cheap hosting as the rest of this page. No API, no server, no bill that grows with every question.

Has he managed people?

Yes. At Parsek I was head of frontend and led and mentored 5 frontend engineers.

How it answers

  1. Your question

Typed in your own words. Typos get fixed first.

  2. A small model, on your device

A sentence-embedding model of about 22 MB loads once and turns your question into numbers.

  3. Answers I wrote

It compares those numbers with every way I could think of to ask each of my answers, all written ahead of time from my CV.

  4. Sure, or silent

It only answers when one match is clearly ahead. Otherwise it suggests the closest questions instead of guessing.

  5. Never made up

Every answer is one I wrote. If the model is not loaded yet, matching words still find it.

91 answers, 1,090 ways of asking them. All on your device.

What it gets wrong

  1. On questions it was never tuned on, it gets fewer right. When it misses, it suggests close questions or gives you my email. It does not invent an answer.
  2. The questions it misses stay in the test, so I cannot forget them.
  3. I wrote the test and chose how sure the crab has to be before it answers.
